A Lot of Art is Right!

Kicking off festivities this past Sunday, the 16th, was San Chez Bistro presents A Lot of Art. This was a fundraiser for the Avenue for the Arts as well as a preview party of Artprize entries at San Chez. Activities included a mural unveiling by Phanie Mills, a line up of great musicians, mixology and cooking demonstrations and of course, an Artisans Market. There was over thirty artists selling handmade items as well as eight talented performers who lined the indoor and outdoor stages.

New U-racks installed for avid bikers in downtown Grand Rapids

As many of you know, biking has become a growing trend around the downtown area. I think everyone can agree that it is a lot easier to maneuver a bicycle downtown than it is a car.  The question that was then raised was, where to lock up and park your bike? Rest assured, the Parking Commission has come up with a solution. You might have noticed new U-racks installed on Jefferson Ave a couple of weeks ago, those were to act as a trial run for more racks to come.
